Lol -- I've been checking for it like every five minutes all day. It was so worth it... ;)

I just hope they do a dub soon. The Japanese voice actors are great, but I'll always be attached to the English ones. I'm dying to hear some of these lines spoken in their voices. (*sigh*)

LOL. I've been very purposefully avoiding the temptation of doing just that all day, so I wouldn't get all distracted. Now? I'm totally distracted. Guess that's what I get for checking LJ on the sly. =P

I'm personally not a huge fan of dubs - it's a lot harder to ignore the CHEESE sometimes, when it's in a language you understand. Regardless, I'm hoping it comes out soon too, cuz it means there's still something left for fandom to look forward to. :)

I know what you mean about the cheese factor -- there are definitely moments when the dub makes me cringe, and when I first started watching I thought Richard Ian Cox's voice was so obnoxious I wasn't sure I would be able to stomach it, but after awhile it grew on me. For better or worse, he is Inuyasha to me. I guess it's one of those things, like people getting more attractive when you fall in love with them. You come to appreciate even their flaws. ;)

I'm definitely glad the dub wasn't the only option. I got the first season as a gift and I only lasted, like... three episodes before giving up and switching to the Japanese audio. Of course, the subtitles were wrong, since they were based on the English dialogue, but I left with my sanity intact.

I guess I'm just too picky? Oh well! =P

I never watch InuYasha in the dub if I can avoid it...but it was good enough originally to get me hooked, so I guess it's not totally bad.

Ah, see, I originally got into the Viz manga anyway - which is cheesy in its own right - so I can't even attribute the dub that much for myself. Still, it brought many people to fandom, so I definitely can't complain. :)

No kidding! I just about hyperventilated at the kiss (like, literally... ;). I'd expected it to be sort of tucked in casually at the end somewhere, if it showed up at all (truth be told I was half expecting to be disappointed) -- never occurred to me they would put it where they did. This episode had all my favorite moments from the manga, and it was absolutely everything I wanted it to be in addition -- which is pretty rare when it comes to anime, I find...

I liked the bit they added about Kouga. I know there probably wouldn't have been much to say about him in the manga (since there was no Ayame), but I always thought it was a little sad that they didn't even mention him. But yes, those five seconds in the middle were definitely my favorites. Out of about the entire century.

I thought that giving Naraku, Midoriko and the youkai peace was an excellent addition. RT once said that she thought that Naraku could have saved and the animators did so.

Yeah, I thought that was new, but I couldn't remember -- meant to go look it up. I liked that too -- I've always thought it would be interesting to try to delve into Naraku's mindset and try to come up with a plausible redemption of some kind. I mean, like maybe something where a shift in the timeline resulted in Naraku becoming the troubled hero and Inuyasha becoming the villain -- because it seems like they weirdly have a lot in common, aside from the whole good/evil distinction (*grin*). I've always wondered if Naraku/Onigumo's life might have turned out differently if his feelings for Kikyo had been returned. Haven't been able to come up with a way to make all the pieces fit though...
