I was just trying to write an actual letter to someone -- you know, like a normal person, sans emoticons and all -- and I accidentally jotted down "btw" in place of "by the way" without even noticing it. The internet may not be ruining my creative writing skills, but it is definitely ruining my communicative writing skills.

(*sigh*)


See??? I can't stop it! It's so annoying...(*sigh*)

If it makes you feel better, I was using btw before there was a world wide web...and even medieval writers in their scriptoria used abbreviations all over the place....

Lol -- interesting. Well then maybe I'm simply participating in the next evolution of human language. That's a nice way of looking at it... ;)
