These commentators are making me laugh. First they were trying to do a little side-track filler bit about how the boarders have to choose different tints for their goggles depending on the weather, and they tried completely unsucessfully to demonstrate it by pointing a camera at the edge of the track, and then sticking a pair of goggles in front of it, as if what the camera was seeing was an accurate representation of what the boarder would be seeing. Unfortunately, what the camera was seeing was a very dark, blurry, and completely unhelpful version of the otherwise bright and perfectly visible track... (*grin*)

Then, during one of the quarter final runs, one of the commentators was talking about the boarder out in front, and made the incredibly insightful observation that her strategy was to "distance herself from the rest of the pack, and try to stay out ahead of the others." Uh...duh. Isn't that kinda everybody's strategy in a race like this...? LOL...

Would you mind putting Olympic results/commentary under a cut? This is the second day in a row you've scooped the local broadcasts for those who have to wait for Prime Time on the Pacific coast.

Sorry! I figured it was alright since I wasn't actually talking about the specifics of the race (didn't mention any names or tell who was winning or anything), just the way it was being covered. As far as I remember, all my other comments have been focused on the costumes and music choices of the figure skaters (*grin*) -- I was trying to be careful not to blurt out scores or winners or other competition-relevant comments, since I know not everyone is seeing everything at the same time. But I can put these kinds of things under cuts too, if that's a problem...
