Women's Snowboard Cross
Feb. 16th, 2010 09:24 pmThese commentators are making me laugh. First they were trying to do a little side-track filler bit about how the boarders have to choose different tints for their goggles depending on the weather, and they tried completely unsucessfully to demonstrate it by pointing a camera at the edge of the track, and then sticking a pair of goggles in front of it, as if what the camera was seeing was an accurate representation of what the boarder would be seeing. Unfortunately, what the camera was seeing was a very dark, blurry, and completely unhelpful version of the otherwise bright and perfectly visible track... (*grin*)
Then, during one of the quarter final runs, one of the commentators was talking about the boarder out in front, and made the incredibly insightful observation that her strategy was to "distance herself from the rest of the pack, and try to stay out ahead of the others." Uh...duh. Isn't that kinda everybody's strategy in a race like this...? LOL...
