The Office

frameofmind6Just watched yesterday's episode of "The Office."
Dwight and Ryan's diabolical planning...LOL. Though I have to say, it was a little weird when Ryan suggested that they kidnap Jim and take him to a warehouse to freak him out and mess with his mind -- cause didn't Dwight do exactly that to Ryan a couple of seasons ago? (*grin*) He didn't seem to think it was all that effective back then...
It's weird that the two of them almost seem to be forming a friendship though. An odd friendship, but still, I kinda like it. Also, is it just me, or did Ryan's style of dress change radically about two or three episodes ago? He used to always wear either business suits or sort of preppy casual like khakis and polo shirts (the latter mostly after his fall from grace), but now he's got sort of an off-beat geek-trendy thing going, with the horn-rimmed glasses and indoor scarves and bright colors and all. I first noticed it in the clips show they played right after the Christmas hiatus, and I thought maybe he was trying to give a certain impression for the new owners or something (an impression of what, I don't know) -- but he's been keeping it up. It's interesting. I'm finding I'm liking his character better now that he seems to have given up the sort of "I'm better than this place" attitude, and is letting himself get dragged fully into the world of the office. The aloofness worked early on, but once he proved himself to be a complete douchebag (round about season 4), I found it less appealing. Even after the whole fraud incident, he always seemed like he was just killing time until he could escape again. Now it's like he's let go of that and become exactly what he said at the beginning of the series that he never wanted to be -- "a 'guy' here." Looks like he's there to stay.
