frameofmind6Okay, is it just me, or are there a lot of douchey, "quit letting your girlfriend push you around and be a 'manly man'" commercials on the Superbowl this year? Or maybe that's the way it is every year -- I dunno. Don't really watch it very often. Either way, it's starting to bug me. There's like a veiled misogyny about them...
I think what I resent is the implication that women are somehow preventing men from being "manly." I mean, if you go shopping with your girlfriend for dresses and end up holding all the bags, and you'd rather be home watching the game, is that her fault? No. It's your fault. If you don't want to do that, say no. If she's not okay with that (why wouldn't she be? Seriously, I don't even like having other women hanging around me while I'm shopping, much less a bored, cranky man...), tough. If there's something else you want from her that she doesn't want to give you (*cough*), and it's a trade-off, then tough luck for you -- if you want what you want, then you gotta pick your battles. It's not about backbone -- it's about priorities. But any way you look at it, it's your choice -- she's not preventing you from anything.
Lol -- getting a little bored with the game, I think (*grin*). But the halftime show is good so far...
