Inuyasha: Final Act

Finally caught up with the new Inuyasha episodes -- I've been falling behind the past few weeks (too much Naraku/sword plot, not enough Inu/Kag... *grin*). But when I saw the title of this week's episode, I figured it was time to pick up the slack. All I can say is: Sqeeeee!!!!

I totally thought they had skipped over the "almost kiss" bit completely! I was pretty furious about that -- might have been part of the reason I slacked off on watching the episodes. I guess I lost interest a bit when it started to look like they were leaving out the best parts. But this week's episode completely restored my faith -- might even be my new favorite episode ever, old or new. They did a great job of combining the chapters they combined -- and the almost kiss...oh my god...even better than the manga version. No room for misinterpretation there... (*grin*)

(*sigh*)

That makes me happy. And for some reason it makes me want to go dig up a few old fanfics I read years ago and reread them. Dunno why...

I didn't read the manga, I'm lazy and there's just way too much to read, so I know I've missed a bunch. This totally got me on the same page as you did tho, and I had also been a bite done with the series, despite my earlier excitement over new eps. There just wasn't enough Inu/Kag for me either.

But this episode was SOOO cute!!! And you can see how their relationship has also evolved from when they first started, with his awkwardness in her world all but gone and he just seems so mature in this episode. I loved it!

Yeah, I powered through the second half of the manga (everything post-anime) just a few months before the series ended because I wanted to be able to read the ending when it came out (*grin*). But it was a lot -- I read a big chunk in script form (cause that was all I could find at the time) and I still haven't gone back and re-read most of that in scans. There were a lot of really slow sword-upgrade arcs in there. I'm like you -- plot is great and all, but Inu/Kag is why I fell in love with it.

I also loved the little bit in the episode where he sort of seemed to think that her going to the exam meant that she was having second thoughts about their conversation/"almost-kiss" -- I love it when he gets insecure like that (*grin*). I don't think that was even in the manga -- originally those two events were about thirty chapters or so apart...
